Our band of brothers

Behind our bark

Changing pet care is only one part of our mission.

We love dogs, but affection without responsibility has never been enough.

The crisis filling shelters is not a failure of dogs. It is the consequence of human decisions, inadequate knowledge, and systems that intervene too late.

Simon Says exists to change what happens before a dog is surrendered, abandoned, or overlooked. And if they are, we want to provide a route to safety.

We measure our progress by every dog saved now and by the work we do to ensure fewer need saving tomorrow.

Behind our bark

The problem is obvious

The pet industry is booming, but the system pets are in is broken. We’re different.

$158 Billion
Spent on pets in the U.S. in 2025 (APPA). Yet shelters and rescues still struggle to feed and treat dogs in need. Thousands of dogs are euthanized weekly.
71 Million
U.S. households owned a dog in 2025. Hundreds of thousands of dogs enter shelters each year. An industry built on our love for dogs should do more for those still waiting for a home.

Do more...

Dogs aren’t going to save themselves.

Right now, we need more people who really care about dogs, not clicks.

Posting can help a dog be seen, but someone still has to step up and help save that life.

Get out from behind the screen and into shelters and rescues near you. Foster. Volunteer. Transport. Adopt. Donate. Advocate. Every person can do something, and every action can change a dog’s life.

Dogs do not need more spectators. They need people willing to show up.

Clean Paws Program

We organize Simon Says “Suds Squads” to give shelter and rescue dogs a much-needed bath day. It’s not just about cleanliness.
It’s about comfort, confidence, and giving adoptable dogs their best shot at finding a family.

Rescuing is hard

things no one tells you

People

Many new or small rescues started by well-meaning individuals are unfamiliar with the intense emotional, financial, and operational demands of life saving rescue work. They quit rescue work very quickly.

Networkers

Saving dogs needs strong, established relationships with shelters across the country who are on the front lines of dog rescue. Smaller rescues and networkers do 75% of all lifesaving work (CauseIQ).

External factors

Economic pressure, housing costs, job loss, and rising pet care expenses can force families to surrender their dogs. When communities struggle, shelters and rescues see the impact.
