Compassion
Heart & dedication are the driving force behind all we do. Rescue is one of the hardest things you will ever do.
Every dog deserves a chance.
August 2026: 13 Dobermans on euthanasia lists.
10 volunteers + 6 vets + 9 alters + 1 emergency surgery + 3 boarding facilities = $30k spent.
Each is headed to their forever homes.
The Simon Says Foundation is a national animal-welfare nonprofit dedicated to ending dog homelessness, neglect, and abuse.
We didn’t start a foundation to talk about saving dogs. We started one because we have spent more than a decade doing it.
The Simon Says Foundation launched in 2025, built on years of hands-on rescue experience and alongside partners who have been rescuing dogs for more than 30 years.
Rescue is not about building a social media following for monetization. Rescue uses social media to share dogs. The more dogs that get seen, the better chance they have to get out alive.
Our roots are in breed-specific rescue. Today, we are here for every dog. We bring experience, action, accountability, and a willingness to challenge what is not working.
We will ALWAYS speak the truth about rescue work.

the numbers don't lie
Some statistics from our friends at CauseIQ:
There are over 28,000 animal rescue organizations and shelters in the United States.
Combined they generate more than $7 billion in revenue each year.
And as of 2024, they hold $15 billion in assets.
It takes an army of selfless people to save a dog.
Heart & dedication are the driving force behind all we do. Rescue is one of the hardest things you will ever do.
We show up with our best and rely on our partners to do the same when saving lives.
When you give your dollars, you deserve to know where they go. Every one of them.
While long-term solutions will take time, dogs need help now.
We say this over and over. Rescuing dogs is incredibly hard in every way. There are no shortcuts.
We see many new or small rescues started by well-meaning individuals unfamiliar with the intense emotional, financial, and operational demands of life saving rescue work quit rescuing very, very quickly.
There is no single guidebook, no single system, and no single set of rules rescues and shelters operate.
We are building a platform that brings like-minded rescue organizations together to share resources, coordinate efforts, and work toward one goal: saving more dogs.
Through practical templates, shared tools, and training programs, we are helping rescues operate more efficiently, strengthen their impact, and make lifesaving work smarter, not harder.
In this case, more really is better.
Rescues and shelters of all sizes are always limited by the same thing - resources.
Money, medical, staff, transport, time, boarding, volunteers - the list goes on.
Through micro-grants, (much of which comes from the Simon Says Pet brand) we support emergency vet care, transport, and foster coordination when time is critical.
We also partner with other established foundations for needs outside our own limits.
Simon Says Foundation supports rescues, shelters, and networkers across the US and Canada. We all work hand-in-hand daily to save dogs from abuse, neglect, and euthanasia.
